Really enjoyed the list and looking forward to more on each. I'd just add PEMF to the red light option -- they have similar effects of cell-feeding. (And my PEMF option called ICES was the most affordable option for home use I found for myself and my past clients.)
And rest periods as critical - totally agree! I think of exercise as teaching the body skills of strength and resilience. Like any learning, the brain~body needs time to incorporate and stabilise that learning in order to build on it.
So glad to hear you enjoyed it Karen! That is awesome. Yes. Thank you for that addition! I will add it to the post and quote you. I have the Higher Dose PEMF mat with the far infrared and I meditate on it everyday. It helps so much - I can FEEL the cell-feeding action and I feel brand new afterwards. I have never heard of ICES but will definitely check it out! How long did you have your patients be on it every day?
I love your exercise perspective so much and I would love to learn more how you apply the "brain~body needs time to incorporate and stabilise that learning in order to build on it" to your clients' and your own life for any health habit along with listening to your body to know when it has incorporated and stabilised that learning.
This reminds me of the rhythm post I wrote - about finding your own rhythm: this is like learning how to listen for your body's signal that it has indeed incorporated current habit and is ready for the next!
Yes! II think the notion of the body~brain integrating its learning is EXACTLY like your rhythm post. When I have tried to do a new exercise every day "to create a habit", it's not unusual for Her to push back and start to hurt. We need to introduce the new demand gradually and make sure She's good with it before doing more. But it clearly also applies even physically, in terms of muscle micro-damage needing to heal to strengthen the muscle before taxing it further.
This is the ICES-PEMF system I use and have recommended:
Bob Dennis, who created the system is such a person of integrity -- I trust his input on al things PEMF. :-)
He recommends using it up to 24 hours per day for long-term healing (e.g., bones). I do an hour a day in the morning for my brain/hands/eyes and sometimes a bit extra for other more superficial healing of cuts, sore joints, etc.
Karen! I just saw this reply OMG, don't remember getting a notification for it! Wow, I am so glad the rhythm post resonates with you and I love the way you expand on it! And thank you so much for the awesome PEMF recommendation! I will take a look! And up to 24 hrs usage? That's awesome!
