This is where habits go to die
There's one thing I see destroy more health habits than anything else.
It's not lack of willpower.
It's not poor planning.
It's not even inconsistency.
It is definitely NOT laziness.
It's this: the moment you feel like taking a rest day, you immediately assume you're being undisciplined.
That assumption is what ruins everything.
The voice in your head
You wake up and your body feels heavy.
Tired. Not quite ready.
The voice starts immediately:
"You're being lazy."
"You're avoiding a challenge."
"You need to push through."
"Disciplined people don't skip workouts."

Anyone can ignore their body and follow a plan.
That's easy.
What's hard is:
Listening when your body says "not today"
Having the courage to honor that signal
Taking the action your body needs
Being proud of that choice
Most people think this is weakness.
It's actually mastery.
The distinction that changes everything
How do you know your body needs recovery or if your brain is just trying to avoid a challenge?
It’s actually innately simple but we make it really hard by second guessing our own self knowing:
If you trust yourself, you'll find that most—if not all—of the time, you're right in wanting to stop.
Most of the time, your body genuinely needs recovery.
The part where you think you're being undisciplined, bad, or trying to avoid a challenge?
That's not your body talking.
That's society talking.

No story about their character.
Just: "My body is asking for something today. Let me listen."
When you honor your body's signals without guilt, three things happen:
