Insight hit: You don't need science’s permission to get healthy
What caught my attention
“Exercise is good for you.
Sunlight heals.
Nature is good for the nervous system.
Breathing relaxes you.
Drinking water is good.
Eating crap food makes you feel like crap.
Eating healthy food makes you feel better. You don’t need science to back that up.
You need your innate intuition back online.”
— Dr. Perry Nickelston
What I see
This is obvious. You don’t need science’s permission to do what’s plainly good for you.
I’ve worked with hundreds of people and seen the same trap over and over again: the illusion that you need outside validation before acting on common sense.
I remember working in a clinical setting. I’d recommend the most basic things. People would actually do them. They made huge progress.
But doctors I worked with dismissed those basics — bluntly — as if they couldn’t possibly be the reason for change.
It happened constantly. I stopped wasting energy trying to convince them because the belief was too ingrained.
What mattered to me was simple: my clients were doing better, and they felt better.
Longevity gurus and doctors keep this illusion alive.
They convince people they can’t be healthy without a study, a dataset, or an expert’s blessing.
That’s nonsense.
Science isn’t going to get you healthy. Gurus aren’t going to get you healthy.
Health is created by you.
And yet — people will grab junk food and alcohol without a second thought.
But when it comes to getting morning sunlight, or walking barefoot on grass, or even just breathing deeply…
Suddenly they want “evidence.” Suddenly they want the guru’s nod.
That’s ridiculous.
And if you actually look at the so-called longevity gurus — do they really walk their talk?
There’s one very famous doctor I won’t name here, but if you’ve seen his social media you can see the lack of vitality with your own eyes.
How can you believe someone like that?
This is exactly why health feels so far away for so many.
Think about it like this:
If you’re driving from LA to Chicago, and you just keep going at the speed limit, you’ll get there. Simple.
But if halfway through you keep turning back because the peanut gallery said, “Wait, are you sure? Did you get the evidence?” — you’ll never arrive.
You’ll keep looping back toward LA.
That’s what people do with their health.
They start on the path to vitality… but then they stop trusting their bodies and start trusting outside voices more.
And it sets them back again and again.
Health is common sense.
You don’t get healthy by following gurus.
You don’t get healthy by following doctors.
You don’t get healthy by waiting for more studies.
You get healthy by listening to your body, trusting its signals, and acting consistently on what you already know deep down.
That’s the work I do with clients:
Helping them see clearly where they are now — and the system they’ve been stuck in that’s creating their current results instead of what they want.
From there, we get specific about what they truly want.
Then we test and adjust until they find what actually works.
I guide them with specific strategies drawn from my biochemistry background, from working with hundreds of clients — and yes, even science — but always in a way that connects the dots back to their own bodies.
It’s not about my rules or someone else’s studies.
It’s about learning to trust their own signals more and more.
Because no one can ever make you healthier but you.
