Here’s something I never thought I’d say…
I found myself actually ENJOYING the act of organizing my QuickBooks business accounting.
Not just enjoying but finding it fulfilling?? What?? hahahahaha!
The most boring, nuanced task—categories, GSTs, partitioning invoices—suddenly felt… satisfying.
I think I’ve crossed a threshold: not only loving the coaching, content creation, and writing side of my business, but also the accounting and looking at my expenses with pride.
Even the smallest details feel different since working with Steve Chandler.
These beautiful, happy-money expenses are precious. They allow me to run my business in the most outstanding way.
Today I got so caught up in QuickBooks momentum, with the Wicked soundtrack blasting, that I completely missed the time to write here.
So instead, I’ll leave you with this quote to ponder, from a book I just finished: Steve Chandler’s Right Now: Mastering the Beauty of the Present Moment.
“Most people (including me) and even most companies plan their future based on the past.
They take the past and try to make the future out of it—like feverishly beating a dead horse.Whop! Get up! Run!
They say they’re just looking to the past for guidance… but then they put the past on a table in front of them, stare at it, and ask: ‘How can I make this 10 percent or 20 percent better?’
So the past is like a lump of clay. Shaped a little. Added to a little. Maybe even baked and glazed. But it is still the past.
So when I do it this traditional way, my future is still the past. All I can ever have is a slightly newer, slightly better past. But it’s still the past. Do you see this?
But what if I chose not to do that? What if I chose to create my future based on a totally invented picture of the future?
Something I’ve never done. Something no one’s ever done.
Like the hit show Hamilton—instead of just a remake of Oklahoma.”
